7 Reclaimed Glass & Steel Sculptures for Outdoor Space

There’s just something about glass and steel together. Perhaps, it’s the way the glass catches the light or how the steel brings strength and shape. Either way, we love what happens when the two meet.

Our collection of standing sculptures is all about that combo: colour, texture, and character, all made from reclaimed materials. From antique glass to chunky old steel, everything gets a second life.

These pieces are built to do more than just sit pretty. They spark curiosity, shift the mood of a space and add a little magic to your garden or home.

Gin Clear

Our first sculpture for 2025!

If you’re a fly fisherman, you might know the term “Gin Clear” used to describe mountain water that’s so clear it has a blue tinge, like Bombay Sapphire gin. That’s what inspired this piece. Rob stacked over 100 slithers of glass on their side and kiln-fired them to create a stunning effect where the light dances through the glass ends. All materials are 100% reclaimed.

Mandala

Mandala means “sacred circle,” and this piece brings that energy to life.

Sculpted from over 500 pieces of glass, a wagon wheel rim, and bits of reclaimed steel, it turns with the seasons to catch the best light. There’s even a small removable dish for fire, if you’re after extra drama. This piece caught us by surprise, it’s powerful, grounding and deeply captivating.

'Into The Blue' uses some heavy reclaimed steel and an old blue railway signal lens that refracts light with incredible brightness when the sun is on it or when it is lit from behind at night.

Into The Blue

Part of our Signal Series.

This one features bold reclaimed steel and a striking blue railway signal lens that glows when sunlight or backlighting hits it. Pencil-thin strips of red, white, and blue fused glass radiate from the center.

Fabricated from new and reclaimed material the centre of this piece is created with one inch thick slabs of glass measuring 8 by 12 inches and called Dalles that are broken with a carbide hammer.

The Portal

A three-way collaboration between blacksmith Paul Cacioli, glass artist Rob Hayley and Tim Read.

The center is made from thick slabs of coloured glass called Dalles, chipped to refract light through their edges and set in black resin for contrast. It draws you in – just like a real portal should.
