Mandala
Description
Mandala is from the ancient Sanskrit language meaning ‘whole world’ or ‘sacred circle’.
Mandala-making is used for insight, healing and self-expression.
Mandalas can transform and empower the spaces in which they stand and the lives of those who view them as well.
Rob the glass artist and I produce work together all the time and while we enjoy and appreciate it but ‘Mandala’ has really caught us off guard with the feeling and connection it evokes.
It has captured us!
Mandala has been sculpted with over 500 pieces of glass in an old wagon wheel rim, the bell end of a large diesel storage tank, a reclaimed earth auger and other reclaimed material. the whole piece turns on as single point so when its in its final home it can be turned through the seasons to get the best light.
For drama and effect there is a counter levered dish that a fire can be set in however the dish and bar holding it can be easily removed with two bolts.
