‘World Cup Wattle’ 1 aka Waltzing Matildas
Description
Rob and I set out to design and sculpt two limited edition steel and glass wall pieces in honour of the Australia’s Matilda’s and their success in the FIFA World Cup.
We had no idea just how fiddley and technically challenging it would be.
All the steel wattle and leaf backing has been hand cut and welded, the green leaves have been hand cut from reclaimed glass, glazed and fired, and the wattle has been cut from golden yellow fusible glass before being detailed having clear glass added and fired. All by hand.
