About This Project

Wabi Sabi
Description
In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi is a world view centred on the acceptance of transience and imperfection.
Using a reclaimed steel flange and branch, this piece is made to show the beauty in imperfection.
With a leaf hand-cut from reclaimed glass, the glaze is made with real gold, that comes out of its tiny bottle as black and then hand painted. It is then fired in a kiln before cooling to reveal the actual gold.
