I’ve been surprised that so many peoples attention has been captured by this particular piece.
People that work and live here or visit regularly are exposed to a lot of artwork and it’s easy to look past it or not notice something new, so to find those same people standing in front of it or walking around it and talking about how much they love it is special.
It has a softness and gentleness not often seen in my brutalist style and the collaboration of the glass and steel is seamless.
It’s a piece that works from each side and with the position of the leaves and gum flowers you get a different perspective from every angle.
