Tread’s giant flower sculptures are handmade from reclaimed materials in our Melbourne studio. Each petal is hand cut and painted, if required, in a quality primer and oil based paint.
The glass ball stamens are reclaimed Japanese fishing floats. Each one comes to us in its little rope cage after bobbing around on the ocean.
Metal bases on tall flowers are designed to be buried and have open space for planting in and around the frame.
Large Triple Layer White Ground Flower
1.8m diameter, made from 90% reclaimed steel.

Our first flower using gold on the internal petals. It contrasts beautifully with the rust. Metal base is designed to be buried.

For material so hard and industrial it shows a curved softness that settles well into the natural environment.
This piece takes a very big and heavy machinery gear that would be hidden inside a massive gearbox and features its beautiful curves highlighted by a reclaimed stainless steel spinning and gorgeous handmade slumped glass.
