Mission Accomplished (Ode to Ty)
Description
For most of the last 4 years we have had a young guy Tyler Ferrari working for us whilst going through his engineering degree at RMIT.
Over the course of his employment his fabrication skills got better and better and a couple of years ago we talked about a twin flue hooded fire.
It was fitting that in his last couple of weeks before starting a grown up job we got to create this fire together.
We suspected that it would work and draw well but we had know idea just how epic this fire would be.
As it turned out we accidently created a piece that would utilise the RAM effect that generates a big vacuum when a single pipe splits into two smaller pipes much the same as an exhaust manifold on a car.
What fun it is and its amazing when flames shoot out the top. We loaded it up to achieve that but as a firepit when used through normal circumstances it will do a great job of throwing out heat and an even better job of keeping the smoke out of the way.
Dimensions
2.8m high x 1.8m wide, 1.15m diameter firepit.
