Description
This special piece is a collaboration between two Nillumbik Artists and Tread Sculptures.
Luke Doyle from the Bend of Islands is a stonemason who has spent his career doing restoration work on iconic Australian buildings. Luke recovered this roof hip stone whilst working on Melbourne Grammar and has carved out the underside as a bird bath with bee steps.
Paul Cacioli is a renowned Eltham blacksmith who forged the steel rope-like brackets to hang the vessel.
Tim formed the base, arch and found the reclaimed steel for the hanger and chains.
Dimensions
1.26 meters wide at the ring, 1.5 meters tall and the stone vessel is 50cm long and 31cm wide.
