About This Project

Shelter
Description
This sculpture was born from the frame of an old bus stop — a place where people once paused, waited, and watched the world pass by. Now reimagined in reclaimed steel, the structure has been cut apart, the powder coat ground off, and allowed to return to a rusted patina.
Handmade steel vines thread through a reclaimed framework, as though nature has quietly taken back what once belonged to it. Set into the framework is a slumped glass window cradled by an industrial flange that once had a very different life.
Below, a large slumped glass bird bath holds open space for water and an reclaimed industrial planter to brings some natural greenery back into the piece.
This work is a quiet tribute to transformation and the Tread Sculptures mantra of somethings past not defining its future.
