Honeys
Description
Honeys is a reclaimed steel owl sculpture built from hand-selected scrap and found metal components, shaped and assembled to give her a grounded, protective presence. Tucked beneath her wing is a small owlet — a quiet detail that speaks to care, shelter, and nurturing strength.
She is named in honour of a deeply supportive and generous woman from my early years — someone whose kindness and encouragement left a lasting mark. That spirit of warmth and guardianship guided the character of the piece.
Like all my scrap-built birds, Honeys is formed intuitively — letting each salvaged part suggest feather, form, and expression — giving the sculpture its own unique personality.
